Wesley was born in 1986 and raised in the small town of Ellsworth, Michigan. Growing up within a family full of artists he had a strong influence for his work from the beginning of his life, he found his interest for drawing at a young age and developed it, creating his own style and look. Its clear from the images above and below that Wesley enjoys developing unusual and unique characters in his pieces, a style fitting of niche genres appealing to the world of skateboarding and other extreme sports.
A unique style that has attracted clients such as Transworld Skateboarding Mag and shoe and clothing giant Converse to use his illustration in their publications. Its always important to be different and diverse as an individual and carrying this through into careers leads for niche opportunities, and new ideas for society, diversity after all is one of the main strengths of the human race. Im a fan of the way colour is used in Wesley Eggebrecht’s pieces, I think he weights up just the right amount of bold and bright tones against the contrast of the darker ones, his works grab attention but don’t demand it with over the top bright tones, which although tend to work to grab attention usually cant contain it. Wesley’s hard work has recently been rewarded with him receiving his BFA as an illustrator at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan.
