Pan Am Posters from 1971

What a stunning set of posters for Pan Am Airways by Chermayeff & Geismar Studio made all the way back in 1971. I spotted these over on flickr and couldn’t resist but to showcase them. They rightfully deserve their place on the site for all you to see and be inspired by.

Pan Am no longer exists, but these posters tell the story of it’s redesign. Or redesign that was ‘supposed to be’ but never actually happened.

What I really like about these posters is the honesty and how they have used one image to pretty much convey the message. It all speaks for itself, you don’t have to be told or be left hanging. The simple type adds to the whole piece as well, creating a bundle of wonderful simplistic design.
