Sum By Jake Van Buskirk

Sum By Jake Van Buskirk image

Short brought to us from London, Ontario, Canada based film and photography creator Jake Van Buskirk. Jake has said in the past that he is yet to find his style, and is looking to do so through his work, with pieces like this project, I don’t think he will go far wrong in the future. A 19 year old student Jake is mostly interested in photography, film and computer design, his main interests include such things as drumming, piano, drawing, painting, and biking. The concept of this video comes from David Eagleman’s book “40 tales of the afterlife.” with all the statistics used found within the pages of this publication. The use of colour combining the text with the visual aspect is done smoothly, with the background and foreground blending to provide the perfect platform for the stats.

Here is a short recent Quote from Jake :

“I believe that art in the form of a picture hanging on a wall should not merely be art upon itself, but should multiply the artistic architecture of its environment and location. A good painting or good sculpture I believe is successful when reactive to its surrounding and able to create a presence. These are aspects that I like to strive to accomplish in my pieces and hope to one day make a career out of such” – Jake Van Buskirk
