Walking In The Metropolitan Wild, The River Lea with Margaret Howell and William Mann

Margaret Howell just released this film in support of Open House London Weekend. Open House London looks to celebrate all that is best about the capital’s buildings, places and neighbourhoods. Every September it takes place and gives a unique opportunity to get out and under the skin of London’s amazing architecture, with over 700 buildings of all kinds opening their doors to everyone – all for free.

In this film we see Margaret Howell, contemporary British clothing designer, and William Mann, highly acclaimed architect, as they take a walk along the River Lea which ends in South London and joins onto the River Thames.

You may be wondering, ok but what has this got to do with the Open House weekend or the designers?, well from Monday the 5th to the 17th of September Margaret Howell will be hosting a special exhibition in her Wigmore Street store come studio. Photographs by Philipp Ebeling and Jason Orton, a visual exploration of the Lea Valley and the area’s potential to evolve as a public landscape.

Definitely looks like an interesting concept, if not at the Margaret Howell store at the Open House weekend itself. I will be sure to check it out myself. Watch on below.
