A Closer Look at Clothing and Accessories from 45rpm

A brand of regular interest is 45rpm with their fantastic lookbooks and interesting clothing selections, I’m particularly fond of the textiles and the mix of materials. Take for example the above Indigo Anchor Rope Bandana which is made from a loosely woven fine gauze thread and is dyed in rich indigo.
Although this clothing isn’t cheap it’s definitely for a reason, don’t let the casual and rustic appearance of the garments deceive you. 45rpm make their clothes in the finest mills in Japan with some of the best fabrics you’ll find on earth. The textiles are where they’re relatively cautious, these guys and girls have even gone to the lengths of having an exclusive deal with it’s mill to ensure one-of-a-kind materials that no-one else has in the world. This just gives you a small idea of their devotion to the quality of their final product.
Not only do they make nice subtle clothing they also take beautiful photography and make catalogues that you’d want to keep and cherish for years. Oh yeah, and they also build stores that make you re-think the retail experience in every other shop that you’ve visited before. Take for example it’s Soho store in New York where they water the front entrance and keep everything quite creative and free so it works in tandem with the products. It’s quite fascinating all the attention that they pay towards the experience and feeling, I guess that’s where the “human connection” comes into play again.
Today I thought I’d present a few close-up shots of the mens clothing because it’s not all that often you see the details on the web, actually you don’t hear a lot about 45rpm on the internet at all. When you get to see these sort of views of the product you can see the handmade and organic nature of it all, if you’re interested and want to delve a bit further into the denim in-particular and also the hand dyeing, there is a nice interview with one of the workers at the 45rpm store on this denim and jeans blog.
