Danner Recrafting, Crafting Higher Standards Series
Back in 2009 (yes, bit of a throwback!) I presented bootmaker Danner and their Standards section on their website which looked into the craftsmanship side of making their boots. Well since that time they’ve definitely developed the series and they’ve discussed and filmed all sorts of processes, from grading leather to Vibram outsoles and even GORE-TEX Liners. All of these technical details are just my sort of thing.
This video is one of the short 7 films that can be seen on the Danner website, I thought it would be nice to give you another introduction that you can watch in this post and that would lead you towards the website again for further exploration. The piece found below is based on recrafting and discusses the process of replacing the outsole, reworking the leather and restitching the seams, as Danner like to say, “A man and his boots can go a long way”.
