Margaret Howell Autumn/Winter 2012 Men’s Collection Paris Presentation

If you read through my earlier post this morning on Filippa K you may have noticed me mention about the recent presentations throughout fashion week and how I have a distaste for a lot of ‘catwalks’ so to speak. Well it’s kind of ironic that Margaret Howell themselves send through this selection of looks from the Margaret Howell Autumn/Winter 2012 presentation, which was shown in Paris yesterday. I wan’t lucky enough to get an invite, which makes me quite sad, but it’s great that we’re able to showcase this imagery so soon after the actual presentation took place.

Over the last few seasons I’ve seen a gradual progression from Margaret on the menswear side which offers looser fitting clothing that’s still quite staple. I’m pretty happy to see it come back to a more fitted look, with the trousers rolled, the shirts quite slick and the odd accessory here and there. The fabrics are generally clean in there appearance from what I can see, take the coat below for example which is so pristine and solid, definitely a winner. Other items that look great revolve around the knitwear category which is quite heavy and thick, perfect for the colder weather, and the blazer range is always good when winter comes around with some tighter fabrics in use. Overall it looks great so far, as usual with Margaret Howell collections you’re pretty much guaranteed to get a functional garment with great detailing made out of top quality fabric. Browse on below to get a preview of what’s in store for Autumn/Winter 2012.
