Martin Greenfield’s Factory in Brooklyn by Style Ledger

I came across this video last night produced by Style Ledger, a running catalogue of interesting, well-made, and beautiful things. This piece gives us a look at American manufacturing, focusing specifically on the Martin Greenfield factory in Brooklyn, New York.
Now, this probably isn’t the first time that you’ve seen or heard about Martin and his work. The legendary tailor has been making suits since 1947, starting from the humble beginnings of being a floor boy and has now worked his way up to become the owner. It’s not only a great success story but it’s also a terrific factory that outputs some really great clothing, approximately making 65 garments a day with 120 separate operations going into each full suit. I thought it was interesting to see some Freemans Sporting Club, who I’ve been admiring a lot lately, being made in the factory and to see the quality of the blazer, looks exceptional from where I’m sitting.
Although not all of the filming is as precise as what we usually place up here on the site it still offers an insight into the subject that we’re passionate about. I’ve got a lot of respect for this place as a business, offering handmade products, I would like to leave you on a quote by Martin himself, “Quality with intrinsic value will always keep you in business”. Watch on below and enjoy.
