Revolver SF Fall/Winter 2011 Shop Lookbook

So we’re a bit short on the ground here in terms of the mens clothing, that doesn’t mean that I’m not always browsing and searching though. Usually through Christmas it gets dry and then we start to see new inspiration as the new year arrives. It’s like the brands turn over a new leaf and start again, it’s funny what patterns I’ve seen since I’ve been doing this.
Last night I was searching for new and emerging designers and I came across the Revolver store that’s located in the Lower Haight district of San Francisco. I was highly impressed by their selection of brands that not only offers something different but it also supports smaller less known labels who need to make a name for themselves. Their clothes may be just as good, usually better in my opinion, but the stores don’t seem to pick them up because they would rather stay with the ‘safe’ options. So it made me smile to see this and I hope more stores continue to be innovative, particularly in the United States and Europe, it’s getting a bit ridiculous here at the moment as every shop looks the same.
I was perusing and I decided it would be a nice idea to pick up their latest lookbook produced for Fall/Winter 2011 which features clothing from Metsa, Yuketen, Baron Wells, Makr, Tellason and many more. Although the men’s imagery isn’t too vast I think photographer Carlos Chavarria has done a fantastic job with all the tones and the colours, the setting is pretty superb too. You can definitely see some Dana Lee type inspiration here, I decided to throw in a few women’s shots that stuck out photographically as well. Obviously it’s a bit hard to distinguish pieces of clothing by looking at these images but it gives you a good introduction into the store and an idea of what they sell and what they’re themed on.
