Short Film by Bexar Goods

Obviously we are stocking some brilliant accessory brands in the shop, but I think it’s important for us to remember in our content that there are many other creatives out their making beautiful products that deserve to be documented. After all the site was born out of a passion for things we found inspiring and not potential profits we could make. So late last night I was enjoying browsing around Vimeo and stumbled across this great film by Bexar Goods which highlights how they make their bags.
I’m not quite sure what it is, but for me personally I can’t get enough of seeing something being put together, the skills involved and the intricate steps that form the eventual look of a product. I think what I love most about this video is that it feels very homely and personal. Granted, it’s a slower process working by hand but I think it’s so rewarding on the character front which is why it’s worth taking time to develop things properly.
For those of you who haven’t come across the brand before it’s run by a team of three, and is based out of the Bexar County in Texas which has a rich history of making leather goods. It’s great to see the tradition being handed down the generations which is something you don’t see as much anymore, so it’s good to know there are exceptions to the rule. For those of you who want to learn a little more about Bexar Goods I suggest you head towards their webpage which has some interesting elements, I really enjoyed the illustrations they have floating about, hopefully you will too.
