Amon Tobin ‘ISAM’ Film, Photography & Artbook

A watchful eye has been laid upon musician Amon Tobin since his new album release called ‘Isam’ back in April. I caught wind of an interesting project that he’s been involved with working on technical projection setups and other creative spin offs from the album. For example here we present a film and some photography that runs in line with the Amon Tobin & Tessa Farmer’s collaborative installation at The Crypt Gallery in London, titled ‘ISAM: Control Over Nature’. As you can see from the bottom imagery this was compiled and made into a pretty stunning book, one that I personally want to get my hands on.

If you don’t know Tessa Framer is a very talented artist based in London who works on minuscule sculptures that are constructed from bits of organic material, such as roots, leave, and dead insects. Her figures are barely 1cm tall and show such intricate detailing that is only visible through a magnifying glass.

Today I hope you carry away a few things from this post, firstly the new visuals system that I talked about above developed by Blasthaus, VSquared Labs, Vita Motus Design, Leviathan and others which was debuted at Mutek on June 1st, 2011. You can watch that video here, it looks truly breathtaking, imagine actually being there in person!

Also to discover the works of all these very talented artists that have worked with Amon, including himself as a true creative and an expressionist. You can discover lots more by clicking the link below and scrolling down.
