Photographic Works by Nao Shimizu

One of our most popular posts from recent months was Tembea Bags photographed by Nao Shimizu. Probably because of the fantastic combination of the grainy photography and the simplistic products placed in a uniform order.

But Nao Shimizu doesn’t just work on product shots she’s also an independent freelancer who has plenty of other imagery on her website. I thought it should only be fitting to show off her photography and offer a taste of her aesthetic in full.

Here I have picked out some simplistic shots that are minimal and quite bright and airy. I particularly like the doses of green sprinkled throughout and the general lighting which is very natural and comes across as light hearted. We can also see elements of her lifestyle, for example the shots of the cheese, the cat, the dining room, and other living habits.
