GQ Behind the Scenes with J.Crew

GQ are coming to the end of their series titled “Best New Designers of the Year 2010″, this time visiting the studio of J.Crew to talk with menswear designer Frank Muytjens. Frank has played a big role in pointing the brand into a whole new direction, revitalising themselves from the all preppy look they once held.

Many say Frank is copying others who make products with heritage and real craftsmanship, then selling it on in a mass produced way, well across America anyways. I can understand the reasoning behind this opinion, although i think it is unjust. I personally think he is spotlighting other designers and companies who deserve that appreciation, letting others discover brands who he is influenced by.

The video delves into why the company do what they do and what has changed since the new plan was put into place.
