The Future of MUJI Message

One of the main aspects i like about MUJI is their distinctive design and “no-frills” approach. Some people do say its bordering on boring, but as a designer myself, that is far from the truth. It reminds me of Bauhaus, everything feels at home, in store or in your house.
Lets just look at the range of products that they stock, i mean, to produce stationary, clothing, food, all at once and fill a void in the market is very impressive. You know what, it’s not the niche that defines the brand, its the style.
And what i love most, is the whole production process is cared for, maintained, and developed to improve at every step. It doesn’t feel like there are shortcuts, its just natural. For example, the minimal packaging, the selection of materials and the color range. Every product is displayed to show its function, this even extends to the information put on the product and price tag.
Even if you don’t agree, MUJI are starting to share some interesting messages on their website, and i really enjoyed reading what they had to say. It only takes a few minutes, but when soaking it all in, you realize how on point they are with their ethos. I don’t think these guys can be stopped.
