Colony Documentary Directed by Ross McDonnell and Carter Gunn

This movie titled ‘Colony’, directed by Ross McDonnell and Carter Gunn, documents a time of crisis in beekeeping world. The Colony Collapse Disorder has left landscapes of empty beehives all across America, threatening the beekeeping industry and our honey supply. Colony captures the struggle within the beekeeping community, as they try to save the honeybee and themselves.

I thought this looked like a great movie, although i haven’t watched the full thing yet, the trailer below at least sets it off. Beekeeping is quite a niche subject, maybe a lost craft, just like we cover quite a lot here. This is on a bit of a different level, but it still showcases some great talent, in both the film maker and the subjects themselves.
