Wieden+Kennedy’s Executive Creative Director John Jay on Creativity

This video has been making the rounds and has become extremely popular on certain websites, ones thou shall not name, but it was too good to pass up and I thought it would be a very inspiring piece for individuals who haven’t seen it, or those who want to view it again.

Below is a short piece by FastCompany featuring John Jay, the Executive Creative Director and Partner of the Wieden+Kennedy advertising agency. WK have pretty much become a symbol of good design throughout the world, with John Jay becoming a familiar face that pops up again and again.

This creative mastermind moves seamlessly across multiple disciplines, from photography to creative direction for music projects and urban revitalization, for some reason I always see John as a zen type character that really cares about the story behind everything. He’s also heavily involved with the youth and works closely with different “cultures”, companies like Nike have definitely let him reinforce this.

Watch on below as he explains creativity and also why he thinks lasting relationships with his clients are more important than anything else.
