Olars By Lars Marcus Vedeler & Ola Vagsholm

Created in the spring term of this year at Oslo School of Architecture & Design Olars is a collaborative project created by Marcus Vedeler and Ola Vagsholm. An electronic interactive toy which provides many different options for the user and is inspired by Karl Sims’ evolved virtual creatures, Having thousands of varieties in movement and behavior by attaching different geometrical limbs, modifying the angle of these, twisting the body itself, and by adjusting the deflection of the motorized joints, results in both familiar and strange motion patterns. This toy is so useless. It looks like a crippled animal or something. All it does is struggle.
