New at OEN Shop – Ceramics Handmade by Japanese Studio TOKINOHA

The rarity of a workshop that supports multiple craftsmen and their output is quite rare. I think it takes a particular kind of craftsman to want to go this route, looking to build a sustainable business around craft so that many more can enjoy these kind of works.

That’s exactly what Kyoto-based TOKINOHA owner Daisuke Shimizu did in 2009, with the concept being to produce vessels that fit in with our daily lives and are for functional use, not just decoration.

All of their ceramics are produced by hand at their studio in Kyoto, hoping to make work that resonates with as many people as possible and bring a simple aesthetic to the everyday life of anyone who owns a piece of TOKINOHA pottery.
