There’s nothing better than supporting those who you have made a strong bond with over the years. Six years ago I was initially drawn to the simplistic style of the Fuji Works studio, carving works from wood and being quite particular with their lacquer application.
Documenting their lifestyle as craftsmen in OEN Issue 1 and speaking to them about all aspects of their work we have made a much stronger connection over the years so I’m always happy to receive new work and see their progression as makers. It’s constantly changing and husband and wife Kenichi and Minako Fujii just keep getting better and better with time.
Back in stock is the ever popular Round Horse Chestnut Tray and Nested Urushi Bowls in Red and Black. A new piece is the White Lacquer Tray that’s especially appealing thanks to the matte surface with blue undertones. If there’s anything you like it might be worth securing now as we will ship these out from the end of this month. Speak soon!
