Woodworker Toshifumi Momose 2

Japanese woodworker Toshifumi Momose resides in Shizuoka where he runs his project ‘Hikimonojo 639’ from a 150 year old Japanese farm house surrounded by mountains and countryside.

After graduating from Shizuoka Design College Toshifumi studied under a popular woodworker in Japan and later founded his studio in 2011. His eye for contemporary design has seen him craft a series in collaboration with industrial designer Keita Hanazawa. This stunning range has clean, sharp angles that showcase the best qualities of ‘Hinoki’, Japanese Cypress wood.
