New in the Shop – Sculptural Ceramics by Nicholas Lees

There’s always a blurry line between functional and sculptural. This is expressed no better than in the work of British artist Nicholas Lees. I wrote about Nicholas’ work in 2014 on our blog and it’s been great to link up with him and talk in more detail about his ceramic sculpture.

The interesting method of making, from throwing on the pottery wheel to using a lathe to cut in to the main body, is very interesting and certainly unique. The shadows cast when these pieces are juxtaposed in a set is also quite something, as the spokes act as light traps that splay the shadows outward.

We are now pleased to introduce his collection page on the shop and look forward to showcasing much more from Nicholas Lees in the near future. Grab a special sculpture for your home as there are only a few available.
