In the heart of New Zealand, where the rich tapestry of nature weaves its magic, Walk In The Park stands as a testament to the beauty of craftsmanship meeting functionality. Founded by Woo-Lam (Sam) Choi, a craftsman with a deep-rooted passion for wood-turning and furniture design, this Auckland-based studio brings to life the essence of wood in every creation. Sam, an alumnus of Hong-ik University in Korea, embarked on his wood-turning journey in 2016, and since then, has been honing his skills to create pieces that are not just functional but are also sculptural artworks.

Each mill crafted in Walk In The Park’s studio is a celebration of New Zealand’s diverse wood. These pieces are more than mere tools; they are an homage to the organic richness of the land. Sam’s approach to design transcends the ordinary, blending the tactile feel of wood with the practical needs of the modern kitchen. These mills are a dialogue between the artist and the material, between the user and the experience.

The option to refill them, whether by unwinding the bottom or opening the top lid, is a nod to user convenience, but also an invitation to interact, to connect with the object. Walk In The Park’s creations embody the true value of great product design – pieces that serve a purpose, yet tell a story, enriching our daily lives with a touch of the artisan’s hand and the spirit of New Zealand’s natural beauty.
