OEN Update – A Visit to Misa Kumabuchi’s Studio of Mushimegane Books

A little bit of an update here on my side. I’ve been working on a few new projects for the new OEN Issue that I hope to release at the end of the year. One of the features will be on an indigo dyer in Tokushima. A very eye opening experience! On another occasion I also visited a Japanese potter who goes by the name of Misa Kumabuchi and is the owner of her ceramic studio Mushimegane Books.

Misa is such a talented artist with a distinct style who applies many different glazes to the surface of her pots using a sponge, brush, and also her bare hands. I’ve been talking to her for more than six years through email but this is the first time we have actually met in person. I wanted to share a couple of photos from my studio visit with you first before I update our feature page on Misa with a selection of new photos.

We will be restocking her work soon so the remaining pieces from last shipment have been reduced in price slightly so we can make way for these. It might be worth picking up a few pieces as they are certainly made with pure love and care. Speak soon!
