Painted Pieces By Indio

Based in Washington Indio is a Self taught painter, sculptor and illustrator who today rounds of my lot of posts with his series of paintings he recently created titled The Day The Flowers Died. Don’t get me wrong on this one, i’m not going all dark and evil on everyone but i’m pretty fond of the vision Indio has here. I watched a short piece about these over on Behance and I think once you get an insight into the artists mindset at the time, you get to understand the artwork on a whole new level.

I don’t think Indio will mind me saying that he is somewhat of a recluse in the fact that he works in a converted barn, working on a 12pm to 6am timescale. He explains that it lets him work in piece and he can be at harmony with his thoughts, I guess it’s not too much of a sacrifice if you are doing what you love.

“The Day The Flowers Died” is a series of 16 paintings. Each painting title is one line from a poem he wrote. The paintings emerged from the poem. This series concerns the two lovers at the last day on Earth.
