One of the most underrated aspects of any creative pursuit is the entry point it can offer in to other creative fields as a result of being “in the creative process”. Photography has been a classic example of this. Many of the great designers and artists have used photography as a way of documenting ideas that later become more influential in their work. Sometimes the photography itself can become the focal point and stands the test of time!
A similar vibe is happening with the photographic work of Simone Bossi, an Italian photographer who was inspired by his architectural background to start photographing beautiful architecture and scenery. His great eye for shape and form has been further enhanced through his photography, spotting small details, minimalist scenes, shadows, and much more, capturing them with the use of a lens.
Simone’s preference is film photography. He uses the grain and colour from these vintage cameras to create more of a mood or a feeling, basically transforming the ordinary in to something magical and crafting a sense of mystery. He has certainly done that here. These photos are artworks in their own right.
Many of these photos come from a larger series where Bossi documents these builds in more detail, but some of his highlights can be seen fairly easily on his Instagram page. I recommend following him as you are sure to see more wonderful, inspiring imagery in the near future.
