We are back with some new works from Mr Shinobu Hashimoto! I think one of the hardest things when sourcing these works is to restock those makers that we are interested in, but then to go further and expand on each person’s collection. I’m always suckered in by the new works that I often forget about things that I’ve already seen, which are beautiful in their own right.
Seeing the two juxtaposed in this new selection really brought home the beauty in Shinobu’s glazes and his application of slips on the surface of the pots. These leave a lovely matte crackle effect on the surface, which can only be truly admired up-close and in person.
So, a few new products include the large black plates and the black katakuchi, but I’m also proud to restock an updated selection of hibi kesho mugs by Shinobu with a lovely shiny interior. I should also highlight some of his bowls which are exquisitely fine and detailed. Here’s a few images from my recent photoshoot, the full collection can be seen now in the store.
