Updated Work at OEN Shop – Ceramics by Japanese Potter Naotsugu Yoshida
I’ve been waiting patiently for a refresh of work from Japanese potter Naotsugu Yoshida. His collections are always anticipated here, and his work is becoming increasingly hard to get hold of, thus meaning a long waiting list for his ceramics.
Naotsugu is the student of ceramic artist Taizo Kuroda, who is well-known for his associations with architects and designers such as Tadao Ando and Issey Miyake. If you know Taizo’s work, you’ll recognise the simplicity in his ceramics, he’s able to manipulate porcelain in a way that leaves thin forms with lots of character. Yoshida has in some ways carried on this theme, but has added a twist with his pure white porcelain and thin black stoneware vessels.
These works that we’ve received from Naotsugu are from his black collection, including the teapot, milk pitcher, bowl, cake plate and coffee cup. I’ve had a chance to recapture their beauty and highlight it here today, they’re also now available to purchase in the shop for anyone that’s interested. If you have any questions please feel free to get in touch, we hope you have a great day.
