Lightness in Design – TIBBO Furniture for DEDON by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby

Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby have always been an inspiration for me as I find their clean and contemporary furniture really appealing on the eye. Not only that, but they have made a mixture of work using different materials that are sure to stand the test of time. I regularly reference their website for inspiration and see how some of these ideas might rub off on my own work.

One of their latest pieces of work is the Hakone Table for Galerie kreo, a limited edition table that sourced inspiration from the Japanese carpentry they had witness on their travels around the country. One you should definitely check out, but I was also intrigued by their newest outdoor collection for DEDON titled TIBBO.

This range is their first outdoor furniture collection made from sustainably sourced teak and are beautifully simple in appearance, using clean straight lines for the arms and legs that meet up quite perfectly. I also noticed the turned arms and legs give off a kind of warmth that makes these great to revolve around on a daily basis, essential for any piece of furniture. Here are some photos of this furniture from their portfolio, but there are plenty more great designs on their website to browse. Enjoy.
