Platinum & Palladium Pottery by Shinobu Hashimoto at OEN Shop
To all those Shinobu Hashimoto fans you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve received some fantastic new pieces from him, which also include special editions that are very rare and unique.
If anyone’s been following Shinobu’s work you’ll know that he’s an experimental artist who likes to mix-up both his forms and glazes, and I’m particularly in awe when it comes to his glazing method. Somehow he’s able to create unique veining beneath the surface of his pots, some black with gold undertones, others with a white slip surface and black flecks crackling throughout. But the bottom line is that he’s not afraid to move out his comfort zone.
Take the new ‘platinum’ and ‘palladium’ range, which feature a unique metal glaze that’s been dripped on the interior and exterior of the pot. Although in the higher price bracket these are quite exceptional and can’t be imitated, my personal favourite is the Hibi Kuro Platinum Katakuchi (seen in the picture above). Anyway, here are some photos that I like, hopefully you like them too. Don’t forget to make use of our 20% discount (use discount code SPRING-20 at the checkout) which ends this Saturday, the 16th of May.
