Optimal Enchantment by Jeremy Liebman

Jeremy Liebman, the Brooklyn based photographer, has a really stunning portfolio and these are some images that I picked out from a series on his website titled Optimal Enchantment. He’s very clever with his compositions and takes an ‘honest’ standpoint when it comes down to the subjects that he shoots. Inspired by photographers such as Luigi Ghirri & Wolfgang Tillmans, you can see he likes to set his photographs nicely and play with certain ideas, some quite clear, others not so much.

This series by Jeremy seems like he’s shot a lot more loosely than some of his professional works, photographing anything that’s interesting, funny, or weird. Mr Liebman says, “I’m interested in the act of seeing and the history of the medium, particularly vernacular. I try to address those ideas without being conceptual or academic.”.

Having already shot for the likes of Nylon, Intersection and Prada, we are sure to hear more from this photographer in the future.
