Street Scenes by Daniel Weiss

There’s an abundance of photographers in New York City, taking the same old pictures that appeal to the media savvy corporate companies, or worst of all, following a trend and not being creative at all. It sucks the life out of photography as an expression and also creates a hierarchy in the system. Daniel Weiss is not one of those characters, the 20 year old who was born and raised on Upper West Side wanders the streets of Manhattan finding interesting portraits and landscapes, trying to create a homely vintage feel.

I guess what’s most inspiring, is the visual effect given off and also the compisition, bringing back New York to the 80’s. As i’ve said before, it must have been an interesting time to live back then, and i think a lot of young people wish that flavour was still around in the City.
