Blueware Vases by Glithero

I’m doing the unthinkable today by returning to the same creative who’s work we showcased yesterday, but before we get inundated with complaints I better mention he’s a filmmaker highlighting some really inspiring makers and shakers. Yesterday Petr Krejci introduced us all to the Czech collective that is Vyroben Olesem and today I thought we’d take a look at another collaborative project in his portfolio, London …

Short Film on Vyrobeno lesem Collective

When you sit and consider for a moment how many objects, foods and materials around us are synthetic it makes me feel a little uneasy, I don’t agree that price of something is where its real value lies. As time passes I feel myself moving more and more towards items with organic origins, I like to be able to sit comfortably knowing the background of the items that I spend my hard earned currency on. I’m sure if you’re anything like me it’s a real joy …

Further Photography from Where They Create by Paul Barbera

This doesn’t happen very often but I was completely blown away this morning by the creative energy found within the webpage of photographer Paul Babera. He’s undertaken a ridiculously ambitious project where he’s travelled the globe searching high and low for the most innovative designers, makers, artist illustrators, architects and more. Basically if creativity is their passion Paul …

Handmade Resin Objects by Dinosaur Designs

This morning I’ve been admiring these handmade resin objects by Dinosaur Designs based out of Australia. This looks like an interesting material to be working with and I’ve not seen it really used before, well not to this extreme anyway. I’m intrigued by the unusual texture, it seems pliable but actually it’s quite tough like ceramic and can also break if dropped of knocked against a hard surface. Going into Dinosaur Designs as a …

Short Film on Eames Chair Creation

I’m not going to lie, today has been somewhat of a frustrating uphill battle in the content department, we’ve found ourselves stockpiled with certain subjects and thin on the ground with others. Thankfully though I came across this great image of Ray Eames creating a selection of chairs that reminded me of a short film I watched not too long ago featuring a series of their seating being documented during the make. It was perfect …

Furniture, Objects and Imagery from Gallery Utopie

Here’s some fantastic imagery that I picked up thanks to Gallery Utopie (or Utopia in English) who sells and showcases different art/design pieces, the chairs in-particular seem to be quite a focal point. What I like about these guys is that they’ve got an individual taste and it definitely sets their gallery/shop apart from anyone else’s, plus a lot of these objects I’ve never even seen before …

Mid Century Modern Imagery from Frederick Barr

I’ve quietly continued to get inspired by the mid-century era yet in recent times I’ve not brought anything across onto the blog in correspondence with this. Today I felt it was about time I stopped hoarding my sources of inspiration and shared them with you all, so here we are with a collection of photographs that Fredrick Barr has lovingly curated over on flickr, which I’m sure many of you are go …

Gauzak Furniture Collaboration with Quattria

Today I came across this brilliant design studio named Gauzak and their furniture that they’ve been designing for Quattria, a company that sells and produces contemporary objects. Gauzak is actually made up of three individuals, Leire Pérez, Juan Tomás Carboneras and Arkaitz Arco, all of which specialise in product and industrial design. These young creatives got together with Quattria to produce a set of furniture that could sit in the …

Interview with American Photographer Leslie Williamson

As the office begins to become over run with books, Leslie Williamson’s Handcrafted Modern has become a firm favourite amongst our ranks. So it’s little surprise that the photographer come author made it to the top of our interview hit list, and fortunately we were able to find a gap in her schedule to put one together. With news of the second installment of the book being compiled it …
